Naming the Foundation in your Will
Board Members of the Foundation are often asked what language should be used to name the Foundation in their wills. We always advise the members to discuss this with their attorney, but most attorneys use language similar to this:
I hereby bequest (Dollar amount or Percentage) of my estate to the (Name of the specific fund) Endowment Fund of Bethany Lutheran Church Foundation of Kansas, 9101 Lamar Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66207-2494, ID # 48-1219779.
If a specific fund is not mentioned in the Will, the funds will be utilized by the Foundation Board after consulting with the family of the donor.
